How do I create a Budget?

Budgets are a useful way to organize spending across teams, projects, clients, or other expense categories. You can even create a Budget for yourself to keep spending on track. 

Budgets also give team members the power to create their own virtual cards, allowing for more flexibility to manage expenses.

Types of Budgets

  • Standard - Standard Budgets have a one-time set limit. User(s) you send this Budget to can use it to create virtual cards up to this set limit, or you can also create a Budget with no limit.
  • Auto-Refill - Auto-Refill Budgets will automatically replenish up to a set limit at your specified frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, on a particular day, etc.)

Note: The limit you set will automatically be drawn down as the Budget recipient creates new virtual cards, regardless of whether or not transactions have occurred on those cards.

Creating a Budget

Creating a Budget is very similar to creating a virtual card:

Desktop

1. Navigate to the Your Accounts page and click the button at the top right of the screen.

2. Click Create Budget.

3. Select the type of Budget you’d like to create.

4. Enter the recipient’s email address.

5. Enter a Budget Name.

6. Select the primary funding source for the Budget (Registered Account or Card).

7. Enter a set Credit Limit or select Unlimited.

8. Choose an Active Until date or select Never Ends.

9. Click Create Budget.

Mobile

1. Tap the blue + button at the bottom of your screen.

2. Select Create a Budget.

3. Select the type of Budget you’d like to create.

4. Enter the recipient’s email address.

5. Enter a Budget Name.

6. Select the primary funding source for the Budget (Registered Account or Card).

7. Enter a set Credit Limit or select Unlimited.

8. Choose an Active Until date or select Never Ends.

9. Tap the Create Budget button.

Deleting a Budget

To delete a Budget:

1. Navigate to the Your Accounts page and click the button at the top right of the screen.

2. Click Delete Budget. Any active virtual cards created from that Budget will be reassigned to the main registered account.

Note: The Budget feature may not be available based on your participating bank partner. If Budgets are not available with your bank, it will not appear in your account. To learn more, contact support.
