How do I register an account (plastic card) with Extend?

Registering an account (physical card) sets up a funding source so that you can create budgets and virtual cards.

Don’t see your card issuer listed? Feel free to submit a request to our customer support team. Be sure to mention the bank you would like to see supported by Extend. 

Where do I register an account?

New users who are setting up Extend for their company will be guided through the process of registering their first Account when they sign up.

If you choose to skip this part of onboarding, you can also register an account from the home screen, using the Add an account button in the center of the page or under the Needs Your Approval section.

Already have an account? You can add another one by navigating to Accounts, then clicking Add Account +.

Registering an account

When beginning the process of registering a card, you will be asked for the card number, the Expiration Date, and the CVC (if applicable for your card). If you don’t have a valid card number with your bank, you can Contact Support. 

 

 

American Express

Banc of California

  1. From the Home page, select Register an Account.
  2. Enter your Card information. Review for accuracy and select Continue to Billing.

  3. Enter your access code. This can be requested from creditcards@bancofcal.com.
  4. Enter your billing information. Review for accuracy and select Continue to Account Name.
  5. Enter an Account Display Name of your choice. This will appear anywhere that refers to the Card account in Extend. Continue to Review and Confirm.
  6. Review all information entered for accuracy and select Confirm Account Registration.
  7. You’re all set! Return to Extend to start creating virtual cards from your account.

BMO

  1. From the Home page, select Register an Account.
  2. Enter your Card information. Review for accuracy and select Continue to Billing.

  3. Enter your billing information. Review for accuracy and select Continue to Account Name.
  4. Enter an Account Display Name of your choice. This will appear anywhere that refers to the Card account in Extend. Continue to Review and Confirm.
  5. Review all information entered for accuracy and select Confirm Account Registration.
  6. Your card is almost ready for use! All that’s left is to verify your card:
    1. Check your recent authorization activity. Look for a temporary charge with “EX” in the name of the description and note the 5-letter code after “EX”.
    2. Enter the 5-letter code in Extend. Return to Extend, go to your account, and enter the 5-letter code in the verification box.

City National Bank

  1. From the Home page, select Register an Account.
  2. Enter your Card information. Review for accuracy and select Continue to Billing.

  3. Enter your Buyer ID (you’ll receive this from CNB). 
  4. Enter your billing information. Review for accuracy and select Continue to Account Name.
  5. Enter an Account Display Name of your choice. This will appear anywhere that refers to the Card account in Extend. Continue to Review and Confirm.
  6. Review all information entered for accuracy and select Confirm Account Registration
  7. You’re all set! Return to Extend to start creating virtual cards from your account.

Comdata

Comdata does not currently enable self-registration within the Extend app. Please contact us if you would like to register your Comdata Card with Extend.

HSBC

  1. From the Home page, select Register an Account.
  2. Enter your Card information. Review for accuracy and select Continue to Billing.
  3. Enter your billing information. Review for accuracy and select Continue to Account Name.
  4. Enter an Account Display Name of your choice. This will appear anywhere that refers to the Card account in Extend. Continue to Review and Confirm.

  5. Review all information entered for accuracy and select Confirm Account Registration.
  6. Your card is almost ready for use! All that’s left is to verify your card
    1. If you use Centresuite:
    2. Follow the verification process and review CentreSuite for your recent authorization activity, locate the 5-letter code.
    3.  Return to Extend, go to your account, and enter the 5-letter code in the verification box.
    4. If you use SmartData
    5. Follow the verification process and review SmartData for your recent authorization activity, locate the 5-letter code under “Merchant Name”
    6.  Return to Extend, go to your account, and enter the 5-letter code in the verification box.

Regions

  1. From the Home page, select Register an Account.
